Only 10 more days till Thailand

OK it’s November 8th-2010. This means I have 10 days before I leave for Thailand for many months. I have been riding some crazy waves of emotion. I’m totally ecstatic about my trip but with all the excitement  I have also been completely out of my mind. I’ve been careless with putting things down in public places and then forgetting about them, just little things like my wallet and phone (YIKES). No matter how much I have to get done over the next week and a half, I am making it a priority to do a full yoga practice every day so that I don’t get too scattered with all that is happening.

I taught my final spin class at Yyoga on Saturday afternoon. I had a packed class and we had a great ride, it was so invigorating. After the class was done I felt this incredible wave of sadness come over me. The reality of the fact that it was my last class there made me sad. I feel a tremendous amount of joy out of sharing my passion for fitness with people in an environment that brings people together in a healthy, fun, energetic way. I am so not into competing against people but rather connecting to them. When people walk into my classes I get excited to have fun with them. I like creating a connection with someone without knowing their story or sometimes even their name. I will miss all of the classes and beautiful people I have connected with in Vancouver. My years of fitness competitions never left me feeling fulfilled the way my classes and connections do.

My goal in going to Thailand is to first go to Chiang Mai to study Thai Massage more in depth. After my course there I will head over to Koh Phangan to do more yoga training.

In Reflection:

I moved out of my apartment on Oct. 27th and on the 28th I was on a plane to LA to do a week of Yoga Trance Dance teacher training with Shiva Rea. I have wanted to do this training since I first met Shiva in 2008. I LOVE TRANCE DANCE!!! I rocked out and it felt so good I can’t even put it into words how great this experience was for me. Some amazing teachers have inspired me. Eoin Finn my first yoga teacher, Shiva Rea, Sean Corn, David Swenson and Constantine Darling. On my last day in LA I did my own Trance Dance on the beach at sunset. I had my eyes closed the whole time so I never even noticed the people walking by. It was amazing!!!
